A team of veteran developers with credits on series like Far Cry and Watch Dogs has announced a new co-op-focused action RPG called Eon Rush. Though deep in development for PC, a pre-alpha playable demo of the game will be available for visitors to try at Gamescom 2023.
An action RPG set in an original fantasy world, players of Eon Rush will assume the roles of “Guardians” who take part in a war against time itself, or rather, the Chronophage, a monster that consumes time and the countless realms across the universe that are bound to it.
Eon Rush takes place in an isometric perspective (not unlike games in the style of Diablo IV) and teams players up in both Player-versus-Environment (PVE) and Player-versus-Player (PVP) scenarios.
Teams will take on trials that include slaying gauntlets of foes as well as tackling massive boss monsters. The game will also support competitive speedrunning, allowing players with diverse motivations to enjoy the game.
Who Are Eon Rush Studios?
According to developer Eon Rush Studios CEO Adrian Fenix, the team’s goal with Eon Rush as their debut game is to “bring innovation back” to epic battlegrounds, and to keep players from being “stuck in endless filler grind”.
Fenix also touted the team’s collective experience, which includes veteran developers who’ve worked on titles like Far Cry Primal, Far Cry 5, Watch Dogs, The Secret World, and more.
Other developers spent time at major studios and publishers like Ubisoft, Nintendo, Wizards of the Coast and Konami. Outside of games, the team at Eon Rush Studios also clocked experience with multimedia franchises like Star Trek and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The game will be playable at Gamescom 2023, and those interested will be able to visit Eon Rush Studios’ space located at Hall 10.1 in Aisle A, No. 94.
Eon Rush is in development, but does not yet have a release window.
