Introduction
It seems like every brick and staircase leads to a magical secret in Hogwarts. I’ve sunk a silly amount of hours into Hogwarts Legacy and have explored every nook and cranny to find every Demiguise Statue.
Now I’m well versed in RPGs, and I can’t help but collect all the collectibles in my favorite RPGs, like all the Shards in Dragon Age: Inquisition (I know I’m crazy) But before you think I’m torturing myself yet again, in searching for Demiguise Statues I had a blast hunting these intriguing statues down.
Hogwarts has so many exciting areas and secrets that it’s just a joy to explore. I found the spooky detention room and the ghostly Headless Hunters Club, where spirits gather to party in the depths of Hogwarts.
Demiguise Statues aren’t just found in Hogwarts, oh no; these statues are scattered in every hamlet and town on the world map and Hogsmeade, of course. So without further ado, let’s hop on High Wing and explore Portkey Games Magnum Opus.

There are 30 Demiguise Statues to acquire in Hogwarts Legacy, ten are found in the winding maze of Hogwarts, nine in the magical town of Hogsmeade, and the final eleven are located in the villages and towns split around the regions of the Highlands.
It’s worth collecting Demiguise Statues as you’ll be rewarded with the Alohomora spell enabling you to unlock doors and discover new areas of Hogwarts. You can upgrade the spell to level three by returning Moon Stones to Gladwin Moon, the Hogwarts caretaker.
- Alohomora Level II:Â Return nine Demiguise Statues to Gladwin.
- Alohomora Level III:Â Return thirteen Demiguise Statues to Gladwin.
Note that Demiguise Statues can only be obtained and revealed with the Revelio Spell at night. The Revelio Mastery Talent increases the range of Revelio and speeds up the process of finding these silly statues, so consider the spell to make things easier.
Key Moments
You can only start collecting Demiguise Statues once you’ve obtained The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament by completing Percival Rackham’s Trial main story quest. Gladwin Moon will send you Owl Post explaining that he needs your help with getting rid of all the Demiguise Statues.
To start the quest, you’ll need to meet with Gladwin Moon by the top of the staircase leading to the Hufflepuff Common Room and near the Grand Staircase.
Gladwin will explain that a prankster is terrorizing him with these Demiguise Statues and will lead the player to the South Wing, where he will remain for the rest of the game.
This is where Gladwin will teach you the basic Alohamora spell before asking you to break into a restricted access area to collect the Demiguise Statues within. You’ll need to use the Disillusionment Spell to sneak past the nerdy prefects and professors in the Hospital room.
Once you’ve returned to Gladwin Moon with the Demiguise Statues, you’ll complete The Caretaker’s Lament but, more importantly, begin The Man Behind the Moons, where you will be tasked with finding the statues to unlock levels II and III of Alohamora and find the culprit behind the Demiguise Statues.
Solving the Demiguise Mystery
Once you’ve collected all Moon Stones from the Demiguise Statues, you will be contacted by Piers Pemberton, an old Hogwarts student that was part of Gladwin Moon’s year. He explains that he was behind the Demiguise Statues to get back at Gladwin Moon for bullying him years ago.
Return to Gladwin Moon in the South Wing to complete The Man Behind the Moons quest. I was disappointed by the rewards for completing this quest as you only get the Alohomara upgrades and 180 XP, no cool moon-inspired scarfs or Demiguise-themed cloaks. Shameful.
Gladwin Moon will later send the player Owl Post explaining that he’s met with Piers Pemberton for drinks in the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade and will invite the player. However, I checked, and you can’t find Gladwin or Piers there.
Related Perks and Abilities
Revelio is an essential Spell for locating Demiguise Statues, so I recommend obtaining the Revelio Mastery Talent under the Core group of talents. You’ll be happy to know that you won’t need either level II or III Alohomora to obtain all of the statues. But you will need a Broom for all the traveling that is to come.
Why would you want to collect Demiguise Statue? Well, you can unlock levels II and III of Alohamora from Gladwin Moon, which will allow you access to otherwise inaccessible areas of Hogwarts, such as obtaining the Admittance Key in Professor Black’s office.
Bear in mind that you don’t get any other reward from collecting every single Demiguise Statue outside of obtaining the Demiguise Dread achievement, which at this time, less than 3% of players have achieved on PC!
Because the Demiguise Statues can only be obtained at night, make sure to use the Wait feature via the map screen while hunting the statues.
How to Find and Obtain
I’ve included a step-by-step guide for finding each Demiguise Statue below. However, if you want to collect them yourself, I recommend that you:
- Upgrade the Reveilio Spell to increase its range by unlocking the Revelio Mastery Talent under Core Talents.
- Use the Wait mechanic accessed via the map menu as Revelio; otherwise, Revelio will not highlight the Demiguise Statues.
- Consider upgrading your Broom’s speed by completing the Time Trials related to Imelda Reyes’s quests.
Step-by-Step Demiguise Guide
The Highlands may be a vast area to explore, filled with bogs, lakes, and enormous mountains, but despite what you might be led to believe, this is the most accessible location to find the Demiguise Statues.
Hogwarts’ dense thickets of secret rooms, corridors, and verticality make it hard to find these secluded statues.
Hogwarts Demiguse Statue Locations
Professor Fig’s Classroom – The Astronomy Wing #1
In the upper levels of the Astronomy Wing, you’ll find a Demiguise Statue in Professor Fig’s Classroom in the back of his office on the small table to the left of the fireplace.
Muggle Studies Classroom – The Astronomy Wing #2
Muggle Studies is probably the most boring class in Hogwarts, but it is home to a Demiguise Statue. To find the classroom teleport to the Floo Flame next to the Transfiguration Classroom. If you haven’t unlocked this Floo Flame, simply travel to the Courtyard, where Professor Ronen can be found after the Charms Class quest.
Enter the big door located to the left of the Transfiguration Classroom that leads to the Sleeping Dragon Statue, and follow the corridor to the Muggle Studies Classroom. It’s marked by an Alohamora lock using Revelio.
Inside the classroom, you’ll find the Demiguise Statue immediately right of the door, sat on top of a chest of draws next to a loom-looking contraption.
Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower – The Astronomy Wing #3
- You will need Alohamora level II to access this Demiguise Statue.
It was located at the bottom of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower courtyard entrance, where Professor Ronen was found earlier.
Bare right towards the talking Gargoye and unlock the door. You’ll find the Demiguise Statue on the left-hand side of the table in the back of the room.
Divination Classroom – The Library Annex #4
The fourth Demiguise Statue is easily obtained from the Divination Classroom. The classroom is at the top of the tower in the Library Annex area of Hogwarts.
To access this area, you must travel up the spiral staircase near the Animal Door Puzzle, where you first obtain the Arithmancy Study Guide Page.
Once at the top of the tower, a rope ladder will unravel from the Divination Classroom’s trap door, granting you access. The Demiguise Statue is found on Professor Mudiwa Onai’s desk, who’s also Natasi’s mother, if you didn’t know.
Restricted Section of the Library – The Library Annex #5
- You must complete the “Secrets of the Restricted Section quest to unlock the Restricted Section of the Library.
Return to the Restricted Access and navigate the rooms until you pass the metal grates. You’ll find the Demiguise Statue on the left-hand side of a table next to a trapped butterfly. It’s best to fast-travel to a Floo Flame once you’ve obtained the statue to save time backtracking to the library entrance.
Potions Classroom Storage Room – The Library Annex #6
- You will need Alohamora level II to access this Demiguise Statue.
The final Demiguise Statue of The Library Annex area of Hogwarts can be found by teleporting to Potions Classroom Floo Flame and walking down the spiral staircase and along the corridor with a red rug.
The map will show the corridor protruding into a small room this is the Storage Room. The Demiguise Statue is located in the back right corner.
The Clocktower Courtyard Secret Bathroom -The South Wing #7
Travel to the Faculty Tower Floo Flame in The South Wing of Hogwarts and proceed to the corridor with musical paintings.
Walk down the staircase and along the long hallway. There will be a bathroom with a painting of a whale to the right of the door and a bookcase to the left.
Enter the bathroom and open the second door on the left to discover a secret room. The Demiguise Statue can be seen straight ahead.
Beasts Classroom – The Bell Tower Wing #8
- Requires Alohamora level II to access this Demiguise Statue.
This Demiguise Statue is found in the Beasts Classroom on top of the small round table to the right of the fireplace inside Professor Bai Howin’s office. You’ll find the Beasts Classroom outside Hogwarts, southwest of the Flying Class Lawn.
Hogwarts North Exit – The Bell Tower Wing #9
I wandered around The Bell Tower Wing for ages to find this statue! It turns out it’s super easy to find.
A large wall and gate protect Hogwarts on the outer perimeter of the big courtyard, where you’ll find Flying Class.
This exit leads to Hogsmeade, but before we get a Butter Beer, head to the presumable groundskeeper’s shed marked by a level one Alohamora lock under the stone staircase.
The Great Hall Side Room #10
The final Demiguise Statue in Hogwarts is found in The Great Hall, where students dine and are sorted into their magical houses.
Walk to the podium where professors announce the news to the students of Hogwarts and then bear right and unlock the door to the side room. The Demiguise Statue is inside.
Hogsmeade Demiguise Statue Locations
Hogsmeade is the second hardest area in the game for this wild goose chase, thanks to its meandering streets, many shops, pubs, and locked buildings. Hogsmeade is north of Hogwarts and has three Floo Flames you can teleport to.
Tomes and Scrolls – Hogsmeade #11
The first Demiguise Statue in Hogsmeade is found in the back room of Tomes and Scrolls. Walk past the counter and Thomas Brown and turn left through the door with red cloth hanging from the top of the door frame.
- There’s also an Eye Chest in here if you want extra Galleons.
Hog’s Head Pub – Hogsmeade #12
The second Demiguise Statue on the list is in the Hog’s Head Pub. Why do they call it the Hog’s Head? Well, there’s an alive warthog head on the wall. This tavern is located by the small pier and south of the Floo Flame, south of J. Pippin’s Potions.
Once inside Hog’s Head, walk through the door to the right behind the bar to find the Demiguise Statue resting on top of two wooden chests.
The Three Broomsticks – Hogsmeade #13
The three Broomsticks tavern can be found northeast of Ollivanders Wand Shop and north of Spintwitches Sporting Needs.
You’ll find the next Demiguise Statue inside the private room at the top of the Three Broomsticks staircase, along with loot and a Field Page.
Dervish and Banges – Hogsmeade #14
The next, Demiguise Statue, can be found in the Dervish and Banges shop connected to Gladrag Wizardwear. The statue is hard to miss sitting in the middle of the counter with a hammer and anvil to the right of it.
Brood and Peck House – Hogsmeade #15
- The Nabsack obtained during “The Elf, The Nab-sack and the Loom” quest before you can access the Brood and Peck shop.
The Brood and Peck shop is located south of the Dogweed and Deathcap store next to the north bridge.
Nonetheless, you’ll find the Demiguise Statue on top of a fireplace mantle in the house opposite the fantastic beast shop on the waterfall front.
Lower Street Home – Hogsmeade #16
- Alohamora level II is required to obtain this Demiguise Statue
Travel up the street from Tomes and Scrolls and turn left when you get to the next street; if you’ve walked past Ollivanders Wand shop, then you’ve walked too far. The Demiguise Statue will be found on the second house’s top floor on the street’s left-hand side.
If you keep walking down the street, you will either have the choice of turning left, leading you to Hog’s Head, or carrying straight onto J. Pippins Potions.
Residence North of J. Pippin’s Potions – Hogsmeade #17
- Alohamora level II is required to obtain the Demiguise Statue.
The Demiguise Statue is found in the house located to the right of J. Pippin’s Potions.
Across the Three Broomsticks – Hogsmeade #18
This Demiguise Statue is found in the house opposite the Three Broomsticks on the right-hand street. This one is easy to find. Look out for a pot of yellow flowers and a lamp post. The building with the Demiguise Statue is right next to it. You can see the Three Broomsticks from the house.
South of the Water Wheel – Hogsmeade #19
The final Demiguise Statue is located on the outskirts of Hogsmeade, south of the water wheel building and behind Honeydukes.
To easily locate this house, travel to the upper courtyard of Hogsmeade featuring the Gladrags Wizardwear, Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop, and Honeydukes; you can’t miss it. There are swirls of cotton candy flying around.
Walk behind Honeydukes and up the bank to get to the house with the Demiguise Statue. A small blue chest marks it, and red and white flowers by its entrance, the water wheel, can be seen to the north.
Highlands Demiguise Statue Locations
Congratulations! we’ve just got the eleven Demiguise Statues in the Highlands left. Since the final eleven are dotted around the villages and towns of the Highlands, I’ve organized the next part of the list into the various regions of the map and started at the very top of the map descending south.
Note that the levels of enemies will increase in the Highlands the further south you travel. However, this shouldn’t be a problem if you stick to your Broom, as the statues are all found within towns featuring minimal combat encounters.
Passing through the Coastal Cavern is one hurdle you will be challenged with, as there is no way around or over, meaning you’ll have to go through the tunnel.
The Coastal Cavern is designed for characters level 20-40, and Ranrok Loyalists and trolls heavily guard the area.
However, while it’s possible to sneak past most of these enemies, leaving frozen statues in your wake from Petrificus Totalus, you won’t be able to sneak past Oggbert the Odd, an Infamous Foe who guards the exit of the Coastal Caverns.
If you’re lower than the advised level, I recommend drinking an Edurus Potion to increase your defenses while running through this area. This is the trickiest part, but as soon as you’re through, you can activate a Floo Flame to give you safe passage between regions in the Highlands.
Pitt-Upon-Ford – North Ford Bog #20
The first Highlands Demiguise Statue to obtain is located in the small village of Pitt-Upon-Ford, found in the North Ford Bog region at the very top of the map.
You’ll find the statue on the house’s second floor located across the bridge, south of the Floo Flame and North of the Vendor situated east of the bridge.
Upper Hogsfield – Hogsmeade Valley #21
Upper Hogsfield, located in the Hogsmeade Valley, is the next stop on our list. You will find the Demiguise Statue on a bar stool in a pub in the center of town. The pub is located to the west of the vendor and north of Upper Hogsfield’s Floo Flame.
You will have already visited Upper Hogsfield if you’re in the Hufflepuff House (The best house!) during the unique Prisoner of Love quest, where you visit the Prison of Azkaban and learn about the death of Richard Jackdaw in ruins outside of Upper Hogsfield.
Aranshire – South Hogwarts Region #22
Arranshire is the next village on our list, located in the South Hogwarts Region. You can get to it by traveling along the train track line to the east of the world map, or you could fly directly east from Hogwarts across the Black Lake.
The Demiguise Statue is located on the top floor of the house immediately northeast of the town’s Floo Flame.
Lower Hogsfield – South Hogwarts Region #23
Located relatively close to Hogwarts in Lower Hogsfield in the South Hogwarts Region. The Demiguise Statue is located behind the door of the house directly southwest of Lower Hogsfield’s Floo Flame.
You will travel to this house during the Natsai Onai relationship quest and be tasked with finding Archie Bickle in the Lost Child quest.
Brocburrow – Hogwarts Valley #24
The first Demiguise statue located in the Hogwarts Valley region is found in the village of Brocburrow in the house right of the pub and large chest. Theres a bench to the right of the entrance of the building.
The Demiguise statue is found on the floor to the left of the entrance.
Keenbridge – Hogwarts Valley #25
The Keenbridge Demiguise Statue is the second statue found in the Hogwarts Valley Region. To obtain the statue, walk southwest to the three-story house marked by a legendary chest.
The Statue is located on the first floor by the foot of the staircase.
Feldcroft – Feldcroft Region #26
- Alohamora Level II is required to obtain this Demiguise Statue.
Sebastian’s hometown of Feldcroft, located in the southwest region, is our next destination on the list.
The Demiguise Statue is found on the window sill of the house northeast of the Vendor and east of the Feldcroft Floo Flame.
Irondale – Feldcroft Region #27
The small village of Irondale, located in the Feldcroft Region, is home to our next moon stone collectible.
You’ll find the Demiguise Statue in the tavern northeast of the Floo Flame, hiding behind the bar.
Marunweem – Marunweem Lake #28
Three to go! Let’s Go! The Demiguise in question is found in the lakeside town of Marunweem in the Marunweem Lake Region.
To get to this town, you must travel through the Coastal Cavern tunnel, so make sure you come prepared with combat potions like Focus, Maxima, and Edurus, which I suggested earlier.
The Marunweem Demiguise Statue is located in the circular-looking building marked by the middle chest icon southeast of the river.
The statue can be found behind a counter and under a shelf of wine bottles.
Bainburgh – Manor Cape #29
The Bainburgh Demiguise Statue can be found in the tall house north of Bainburgh’s entrance and northeast of the Floo Flame. The building you’re looking for is rather large and has a weather vane shaped like a cockerel on the roof. The building also has a notice board at the foot of its path.
You’ll find the Demiguise Statue on top of a small table next to an armchair in the living room.
Cragcroft – Cragcroftshire #30
The final Demiguise Statue is located in the village of Cragcroft in the Cragcroftshire region.
You’ll find the statue sitting on a small table in a bedroom on the house’s second floor immediately north of the vendor.
So there we have it! All thirty Demiguise Statues. At this point, I recommend that you deliver any remaining Moon Stones to Gladwin Moon in the South Wing area of Hogwarts to complete “The Man Behind the Moons quest.”

Question:Â How to Avoid the Large Chest Glitch in Hogwarts Legacy?
Answer:Â You’ll come across dozens of chests while exploring Hogwarts and the surrounding Highlands.
However, if you open these chests while your inventory is full, they will glitch, and you won’t be able to take their contents even if you destroy or sell items in your inventory. There’s no fix for this of yet, so make sure to check your inventory regularly.
If you’re fed up with sorting through your inventory, you can expand its slots by completing the Merlin Trials found across the Highlands.
Question:Â What’s the Fastest Broom in Hogwarts Legacy?
Answer:Â Brooms all have the same stats and speed; their only differences are their aesthetics. You can upgrade your Broom by taking on Imelda Reyes’s Time Trials and purchasing upgrades from Albie in the Spintwitches Sporting Needs shop in Hogsmeade.
Note that you can only access this shop after completing Madam Kogawa’s Assignments.
Question:Â How do You Unlock the Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy?
Answer:Â Any witch or wizard can learn the Unforgivable Curses no matter their house. To learn the curses, you must complete Sebastian Sallow’s side quests.
You’ll first learn Crucio during the “In the Shadow of the Study quest, Imperio during the “In the Shadow of Time” quest, and Avada Kedavra during “In the Shadow of Fate.”
Conclusion
These days RPGs are filled to the rim with collectibles, and I must admit that collecting hundreds of knickknacks can be tedious and feel as though a chore.
As I mentioned before, I collected all Shards in Dragon Age: Inquisition, there were over a hundred of the darned things, and don’t get me started on the Mad Max (2015) game, where I had to collect Scrotus Insignias, I mean the developers are laughing at me at this point.
Coincidentally Hogwarts Legacy was developed by Avalanche Games and Published by Warner Bros. Coincidence; I think not!
However, I didn’t feel the torment and frustration that comes with endless collectible hunting in Hogwarts Legacy. Thirty Demiguise Statues is just enough to feel like an accomplishment without becoming a chore.
The truth is Avalanche Games did a phenomenal job bringing Hogwarts to life, and as a result, it was a joy to get lost and explore while looking for these statues.
That said, I’ll get back to you when I’ve completed all the Merlin Trials, and Astronomy Puzzles, acquired all Butterfly Treasures, and completed all Butterfly Mirrors… you get the idea.
