How to Get Stormchaser in Destiny 2

Stormchaser is acquired through successful farming in the Duality dungeon located on the Moon. The minimum recommended power for this dungeon as of Season of the Wish is 1600.

Stormchaser is a powerful, Aggressive Frame Archetype linear fusion rifle introduced to Destiny 2 in Season of the Haunted. What sets this fusion rifle apart from others in its category is the fact that it fires a three-round burst, allowing for a larger damage range and more possibility for multi-kills. If you’re planning on running DPS in raids and dungeons, you want this weapon.

The Dungeon it is farmed from, Duality, sees players fighting through the mindscape of Calus, sent in there by Eris Morn, and coming up against enemies of both real and nightmarish nature. Players can expect to be rewarded for their efforts as the dungeon loot pool introduces some new powerful weapons as well as good-looking high-stat armor.

Obtaining Stormchaser

Stormchaser is farmed from the second encounter of the dungeon. Players are tasked with opening a vault. Below is a guide on how to run the encounter:

  • Two symbols will be shown in the boss area: Chalice, War Beast, Axes, or Sun, these must be committed to memory.
  • Kill the Bellkeepers, ring the bell, and enter the nightmare world.
  • The symbols players memorize will tell which parts of the boss arena they will need to run to, indicated by the symbols themselves being present.
  • Kill the Standard bearer for each side and proceed to take the standard and return to the real world.
  • Drop the standards into their sections marked by the symbols to make the boss enter the DPS phase.
  • Repeat the process until the boss is dead.

Stormchaser God Roll

Stormchaser In Destiny 2

The Stormchaser is already a powerful linear fusion rifle. The three-burst aspect of it puts it a league above the rest, but the perks it can roll with give it an extra edge in both PVP and PVE, that being said, it does fair better in PVE by a large margin.

PVE God Roll

  • Arrowhead Break
  • Liquid Coils
  • Clown Cartridge
  • Firing Line

Stormchaser is a prime choice for DPS phases. When a boss is vulnerable, you want a three-round burst linear fusion rifle in your hands, which means you need good handling to quickly switch to it. Arrowhead break gives you that handling boost. Liquid Coils offers a damage increase at the slight cost of a longer charge time; however, when dealing with DPS, you want to pack as much of a punch as you possibly can.

Clown Cartridge is sort of a no-brainer for a God Roll as it offers up the chance of a larger magazine after each reload, and Firing Line is a must-have for players wanting to run raids with this weapon, as the 20% damage increase when near allies takes this weapon to the next level of ungodly DPS output.

PVP God Roll

  • Corkscrew Rifling
  • Accelerated Coils
  • Rangefinder
  • Rampage

Stormchaser seems to have been built with PVE players in mind. When it comes to running Crucible, Trials, or Gambit, I personally won’t be taking this with me unless fighting the Gambit Primeval DPS phase.

Still, for those wishing to use it in PVP, Corkscrew Rifling is a good roll as it benefits stability, range, and handling. Accelerated Coils add a faster charge time, which is of paramount importance when in PVP.

Rangefinder and Rampage give a very welcome addition to the range of the weapon as well as a damage boost with each fresh kill, respectively.

Chase The Storm

In conclusion, Stormchaser is a very good choice for anyone looking for a good linear fusion rifle for DPS phases. The fact that it is locked behind a dungeon and not available in the regular world loot pool should give you some idea of its quality, as many of Destiny’s best weapons remain locked behind some form of difficult task, be that a dungeon, raid, or the Lighthouse. Outside its plentiful DPS, however, it doesn’t have a lot of use, but hey, that’s what your other two weapons are there for.
