How to Get Funnelweb in Destiny 2

Latest posts by Charlie Bewers (see all)

The Funnelweb in Destiny 2 is a world drop acquired randomly through running activities like Strike, Crucible, and Gambit; there is no specific way to guarantee the acquisition of this gun; it’s purely a matter of luck.

The Funnelweb gained popularity with Destiny 2 players as a favorite submachine gun for being an all-around powerhouse; it blends perfectly with any void build whilst also boasting speed and stability.

Whilst there have been other powerful SMGs that players have developed a fondness for, like the Title, Submission, and Osteo Striga, the Funnelweb stays a desired gun by many for its consistency across seasons.

It’s a legendary weapon, so it does not take up an exotic slot like the Striga, and it is not locked behind a raid like the Submission, meaning any players who have time to play but maybe not the skills or teammates to run raids can get this SMG.

The Funnelweb, whilst not locked behind any difficult barrier, is a world drop, part of the world loot pool, which means that there is a large number of different weapons that can drop before you find yourself a Funnelweb, meaning long grind times, and even longer if you’re looking for a God Roll.

Origin Trait

As a weapon made by Veist, the Funnelweb has the origin trait ‘Veist Stinger,’ meaning any damage this weapon deals has a small chance to reload the magazine and increase movement speed while ASD.

Whilst this is only a small chance (if it were any larger, things just wouldn’t be fair), it provides a very nice boost to an already amazing gun.

God Roll

A ‘God Roll’ is what is referred to as the best trait selection to have attached to a weapon when you receive it, which is randomized unless the weapon is buildable. At the time of writing, the Funnelweb was not.

In the commonly agreed God Roll of the Funnelweb, the ‘best’ traits are split into two categories, PVE-based and PVP-based, as different game modes benefit from different traits.

PVE God Roll

  • Corkscrew Rifling
  • Tactical Mag
  • Subsistence
  • Frenzy

In PVE, Corkscrew Rifling pairs perfectly with an SMG, as whilst adding to your stability and handling, it also increases range, which is a massive perk on a typically shorter-range weapon like an SMG. Tactical Mag offers an increase in mag size as well as a buff in reload speed.

Subsistence and Frenzy are of paramount importance. The former returns some ammo to the mag on any kill, and the latter offers a consistent passive damage boost.

PVP God Roll

  • Corkscrew Rifling
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Killing Wind
  • Rangefinder

When playing PVP, the range is even more important, so Corkscrew Rifling is needed again to add to this. Accurized Rounds give the Funnelweb an even larger range boost, making it even more deadly when against other players.

Killing Wind offers buffs in range, mobility, and handling, and Rangefinder provides an increase in zoom; these both work together to make the Funnelweb a deadly adversary in PVP.

Luck of the Draw

Sadly, the Funnelweb and its God Rolls are only available to those with the tenacity to put the work in. There is no definitive way to get it other than repeatedly running activities. There have been times in the past when Banshee has been selling it in the tower, but that is a rare sight. so strap in for a grind, get some snacks, invite some friends, and eyes up Guardian!
