The Adventurous Moles side quest is one of the first ones you can find in Honkai Star Rail, soon after landing on Jarilo VI. As the first major planet in the galaxy that you visit aboard the Astral Express, this quest involves first reaching Trailblaze level 21 and then completing some other prerequisites.

Once you have all of these unlocked, you can do this rather lengthy side quest that involves finding some pages around the planet. You have to visit several locations and complete simple puzzles at each of them to check off every part of the mission. It is well worth it for the overwhelming amount of experience, Stellar Jade, and more you get from it.

Honkai Star Rail The Adventurous Moles Quest Overview

The first planet you visit in Honkai Star Rail is Jarilo VI. This memorable ice planet may have a one-track theme to it with the wintery snow everywhere, but there is a lot to love about this location. While you spent a good portion of the main story’s first part here, there is also some side content for you to do.

One of the best pieces of side content on this planet is The Adventurous Moles side quest. This lengthy, multi-part quest tasks you with finding Julian, one of the kids in the main city of Belobog, and then finding the various pages that he is looking for. This involves a ton of puzzles and locations, but, thankfully, I have all of the solutions for you below.

Where to Start the Quest

It all begins with first unlocking The Adventurous Moles’s side quest in Honkai Star Rail. This is the most obscure part of the quest and requires you to first finish some other steps. To unlock this quest, you must first reach Trailblaze level 21 in the game, which isn’t exactly easy.

You’re going to need to make sure to open up every treasure chest you find in Honkai, complete all your dailies, and the like to ensure you get enough experience to raise your overall Trailblaze level. Once you reach level 21, though, that still isn’t enough to unlock this quest on its own.

In addition to that, you’ll need to progress the main story through to the Wildfire quest and complete that. But if you’re already Trailblazer level 21, the chances are high that you’ve completed that, too. In addition, you must complete The Return, which is one of the Trailblaze missions.

Last but certainly not least, the final requirement you must meet for this quest is that you must complete the companion mission for Hook known as Hook’s Treasure. After that mission, you’ll get a time capsule from Julian as a reward. Read the message inside to activate the Old Foreman’s Treasure quest. Complete that and you are finally ready for The Adventurous Moles side quest.

With all of this out of the way now, it is time to head to Natasha’s Clinic area on the planet and find Julian here. Speak with him and with all of those requirements met, you will finally start The Adventurous Moles quest. There are several locations you’ll have to visit on the planet, each with its puzzles, which you can find the solutions to below.

How to Complete the Great Mine Section

First off, Julian will send you to the Great Mine area on Jarilo VI. For this part, all you need to do is simply use the map and the automatic path that the game leads you on for this quest marker. This will lead you to a small circular area in the middle of the mine. You’ll find a barrel here that has a piece of paper for you to pick up.

This leads to the first puzzle in this quest, which leads you to a box. On top of this box is a miner’s lamp item that you can pick up. Grab it and take it to the one fence in this area that doesn’t currently have a lamp attached to it. The game will even prompt you to interact with it once you reach this fence.

With that, your first puzzle and section of this quest are done. It is now time to return to Julian to report back and get the second part of this mission.

How to Complete the Rivet Town Section

The second puzzle that Julian gives you will take you to Rivet Town. There is a puzzle in this area that you must complete, which has to do with the crates. What you need to do is maneuver the crates in such an order that they match another shelf of crates that is on the left side of this room.

The right side is missing a couple of crates in certain spots. All you need to do is move around the two crates on the right shelf until they match the ones on the left and you will now have completed part two of this quest.

Backwater Pass Puzzle Solution

When you are ready for the third puzzle in this quest line, head to the Backwater Pass. More specifically, you need to go to the cafe area that is in this region and find another piece of paper here. This next puzzle is quite easy to do, but a bit weird overall.

The goal here is to find a particular chair outside the cafe that isn’t like the others. In this case, it is a chair that is upside on top of one of the tables. It sticks out, unlike the other chairs that are positioned correctly on the ground on all four legs.

When you find this chair, what you need to do is interact with it. Once you get close enough, the game will prompt you to flip the chair back over and put it on the ground. This will make it sit on the ground on its four legs, much like the other chairs around it. For some reason, this is the puzzle solution and it is now time to move on to the next and final puzzle.

Silver Mane Puzzle Solution

The final puzzle you need to complete for this quest will take you to the Silver Mane area of the planet. This is a restricted area of the map, so you want to be careful while you are here. If you want to speed up this part as fast as possible, head to the Space Anchor that is near the western entrance to the restricted area.

Once you arrive here, you’ll see that the quest marker is now leading you to the final piece of paper on the wall to the right of the Space Anchor fast travel point. Collect it, and it is now time for the final puzzle in this quest. This puzzle has three different parts to it, but it is quite easy.

The goal here is to find three different weapon racks in this area that are missing a gun. These racks are supposed to have three guns on them, but there are three of them that only have two. They have an extra gun, usually right next to them, that you can interact with to complete it and have the full set.

The first gun rack you should interact with is just a little bit west of where the Space Anchor is, in a corner of the area. Head a little bit further west into the northwestern corner of the square area on the map, and you’ll find the second weapon rack there for you to fix.

And now, last but certainly not least, is southeast of the previous one in the southeastern corner of this square area, near the Space Anchor. Once you complete all three of them, it is finally time to return to Julian. This will complete The Adventurous Moles quest in Honkai Star Rail.

The Adventurous Moles Rewards

When you get back to Julian in the main part of the city, you will now finally have the chance to earn the awesome rewards that come with The Adventurous Moles side quest in Honkai Star Rail. There are quite a few rewards that come with this quest’s completion, likely due to how long it is and how many parts that are involved with the quest.

Here’s what you get for completing this quest in its entirety for Julian and the other kiddos on Jarilo VI:

100 Trailblaze experience (doesn’t sound like a lot, but this is hard to come by at times)
30 Stellar Jade (quite nice for helping you save up for some character pulls)
6000 Credits
100 Shields
6 Sparse Aethers (quite a valuable material that you’ll want to get)

As you can see, the rewards for this quest are more than worth the effort and time it takes to complete it. And, honestly, for a quest that doesn’t have anything to do with combat and fighting bosses, I would say that this is one of the best ways to earn some Stellar Jade and everything else. It helps, too, that the Sparse Aether material is quite valuable and necessary for other aspects of the game.
