In the world of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, mastering the art of stealth is key, but when the shadows fail, blades always prevail! Basim, the protagonist in the game, wields a razor-sharp one-handed sword in his right hand, ready to unleash lethal attacks, while a dagger in his left hand expertly parries incoming threats. For Basim, it’s not just about hiding in plain sight—it’s about being a dual-wielding assassin ready for any situation!
While the previous three Assassin’s Creed games introduced tons of swords and weapon types, in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, that is not the case. There are limited weapons, meaning you’ll need to be sure the one you’re wielding is top-notch, because who knows when you’ll find another to replace it.
Baghdad is Basim’s playground to hunt high-value targets, take down guards, or even kill the elite bounty hunters called Shakiriyya. That is why I have curated Assassin’s Creed Mirage best weapons guide so you can arm Basim to the teeth with the deadliest weapons in the game!
Bottom Line Up Front
If you are in a rush, here is a quick rundown to grasp the guide about the best weapons in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
I have ranked each sword in AC Mirage based on attack power and their respective unique perks:
- Rostam Sword
- Hidden One Sword
- Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar
- Lightning Sword
- Initiate of Alamut Sword
- Zanj Uprising Sword
- Jinn Sword
- Sand Sword
- Demon Claw
- Abbasid Knight Sword
If you want to know why each of these has earned their ranking, then keep scrolling!
10. Abbasid Knight Sword
- Location: Loot gear chest found at Scriptorium of Abbasiyah region.
- Weapon Stats: Attack Damage: 50, Def. Damage: 50
- Unique Weapon Perk: Light Attacks deal up to 30% more damage whenever Basim’s health drops below 50%.
Abbasid Knight Sword is one of the best swords in Assassin’s Creed Mirage because it can be acquired relatively very early in the game. After clearing the prologue missions and once Basim has his training completed, you get access to the open world of AC Mirage. This is when you can explore freely wherever you want, and visiting the Abbasiyah region should be your first stop.
The place called Scriptorium in the Abbasiyah region houses a gear chest containing the Abbasid Knight Sword. A little bit of action and a stealth approach will be required to reach the treasure. With all the troubles in reaching the chest, at the end of the day, you will walk away with a brand new Abbasid Knight Sword.
9. Demon Claw
- Location: This weapon can be obtained by buying the Fire Demon Pack From the Store.
- Weapon Stats: 50 Attack Damage and 50 Defense Damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Striking targets with a burning status effect sets the sword on fire. The sword further applies fire damage to more targets. Effect Remains active for 10 seconds.
I love fire-based weapons, especially the ones that even apply a burning status effect on targets. If you’re someone like me, your curiosity about running with a flammable weapon in Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be satiated after equipping the Demon Claw sword.
The only downside I dislike about the Demon Claw weapon is Ubisoft Bordeaux’s approach of keeping it behind the paywall.
8. Sand Sword
- Location: Buy the Deluxe edition to get Sand Sword.
- Weapon Stats: 50 Damage and 50 Defense Damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Basim recovers 20% of health after killing an enemy slowed by time.
Sand Sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a clever nod to Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia franchise. The weapon’s mystical outlook and the exclusive weapon perk, Healing Sand, are remarkably imbued in the sword’s design.
However, I found the best usage of Sand Sword in the later half of the game, where infiltrating palaces and prisons becomes an unavoidable adventure, often leading Basim into sword fights.
By default, you can carry two elixirs, three if you upgrade the skill. However, you will find a dire need for health tools when your Elixirs run out of stock during the missions. This is where using the Sand Sword comes in handy and saves Basim’s life.
The Healing Sand perk of the Sand Sword weapon in Assassin’s Creed Mirage allows Basim to recover 20% of his health if he kills enemies when time is slowed. Now, you must use the Dagger of Time weapon to slow the time. A simple parry using this dagger will slow down time. Then, follow up with the attacks and try to kill an enemy. This will regain 20% of Basim’s lost health.
7. Jinn Sword
- Location: Can be obtained after purchasing from the Animus Store
- Weapon Stats: 78 Attack damage and 46 Defense damage
- Unique Weapon Perk: Whenever a target is on a status effect, Jinn Sword does 50% more damage to it.
The highlight of Jinn Sword is the perk called “Weakness.” Basim’s attacks will deal 50% more damage to the targets if they’re set on various status effects. This includes fire, poison, or even stun status ailments. Is the Weakness perk the best in Assassin’s Creed Mirage? No. Is the Jinn sword highly situational? Absolutely!
The only time Jinn sword will deal maximum damage is if the perk is triggered. Setting enemies on fire and inflicting a stun or poison status effect is not a frequent occurrence in the game, and this can be forced to come into play by using some of the best tools in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Even though swords are meant to shine in combat, this one, unfortunately, requires you to use tools first for status effects and a sword afterwards.
This conditional perk activation underscores how good Jinn sword could be in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Once you have unlocked all tools and their various tiers, triggering various status effects on your targets will become a walk in the park. Here are a few tool effects that will apply status effects on targets quickly.
- Throwing Knife: Posion Tip Tier 2 upgrade.
- Smoke Bomb: Flammable Smoke Tier 3 upgrade.
- Blowdart: Berserker Dart Tier 3 upgrade
- Noisemaker: Sparks Tier 2 upgrade.
- Torch: Throw it on an enemy to apply the fire status effect instantly
6. Zanj Uprising Sword
- Location: Loot gear chest found at the Metal Factory, Damascus Gate Prison in the Harbiyah region.
- Weapon Stats: 60 Attack Damage and 35 Defense Damage
- Unique Weapon Perk: After executing a perfect dodge, Basim’s sword does a 50% buffed damage to the target.
Just like the Initiate of Alamut Sword perk I discussed above, the Zanj Uprising sword boasts a cool perk activation, though it takes a bit more finesse to pull off and get the same amount of damage the former sword offers.
The “Strike Back” perk requires players to do a perfect dodge first so that the perk effect triggers, which then offers a whooping 50% damage buff on the next attack only. Pressing L1 for a parry is much more convenient to execute than landing a perfect dodge roll. This is why I rank Zanj Uprising sword below the Initiate of Alamut Sword, as both offer the same damage buff on paper, but the execution of it in the combat is a very different game.
If you’re not quick on pressing the dodge button on cue, the Zanj Uprising sword might seem like a dud. But those seasoned players who have mastered games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring combat will really appreciate the sword.
Another potential downside to Zanj Uprising sword’s perk is that every dodge roll consumes stamina, and you can not just make Basim ragdoll like a monkey every time an enemy swings a sword. Depleted stamina is as good as speeding up the process of killing Basim faster in combat.
5. Initiate of Alamut Sword
- Location: It can be obtained by playing the main mission called “A New Beginning”.
- Weapon Stats: 50 Attack Damage and 50 Defense Damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Any attack executed after the parry does 50% buffed damage to the target.
Even though Initiate of Alamut Sword is the first weapon Basim gets after the prologue chapter in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, it is easily the best sword in the game that can be upgraded and used till the story’s conclusion. The weapon comes with a decent 50 Damage and 50 Defense Damage. But that’s not the reason why I believe Initiate of Alamut is the best sword in AC Mirage. The Sharpened Blade perk is actually the real deal that makes this sword shine.
The best case usage of Initiate of Alamut Sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage comes whenever you parry an attack and land the next move. Doing so increases the sword’s overall damage by 50%, which has a high chance of killing the enemy in a single swing after you parry the attack.
Activating the Sharpened Blade perk on the Initiate of Alamut Sword is like telling a joke and waiting for the punchline. The parry move acts as the setup, and the boosted damage is the comedic twist that could kill enemies in one blow. Assuming you do not always rely on parry first, this sword when upgraded to the max, can deal some serious damage and is very effective against Shakiriyya guard when you’re trying to remove Notoriety in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
4. Lightning Sword
- Location: Acquired by buying the Lightning Weapons Pack From the Store.
- Weapon Stats: 65 Attack damage and 65 Defense damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Deals a lightning Area-of-effect damage after every third sword attack.
The Lightning sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be acquired by purchasing the Lightning Weapons Pack found in the Animus Store. As direct as the sword’s name is, its perk lives up to its reputation and strikes enemies with lightning.
Lightning Sword’s exclusive weapon perk called “Thunderstruck” does 50 lightning damage to 4 nearby enemies on every third strike Basim lands on a target. Landing three sword strikes is very easy and can be done every now and then, causing frequent triggering of the “Thunderstruck” weapon perk in combat.
I have found Lightning Sword’s best usage against Shakiriyya, especially if you are fighting this elite guard along with a few regular ones in the streets of Baghdad. In situations like this, a quick three-hit attack on any target will strike every four enemies near Basim, making sword fighting very easy compared to doing the same with other weapons in this list.
The only downside for the Lightning sword, in my opinion, is you will need to buy it. It would have been much better if Ubisoft had made this weapon obtainable in the game without paying extra on top of the game’s cost.
3. Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar
- Location: Located inside the Hidden Chamber found in the Northern Oasis
- Weapon Stats: 46 Attack Damage and 78 Defense Damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Equipping the weapon lowers Basim’s max health by 50% but buffs the damage by 50%.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage heavily puts emphasis on playing with a stealth approach and avoiding sword combat. Enemies in combat hit hard, and four to five hits can potentially kill Basim. Now consider a 50% reduction in Basim’s health, and the combat becomes much more brutal and unforgiving in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Yes, my friend, using the Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar sword in the game will automatically reduce Basim’s max health by half and, in turn, will buff his damage to a 50% increase. This weapon is clearly designed for a high-risk, high-reward gameplay style, and not all players will appreciate the weapon’s perk called “Blood Price.”
The weapon will be unlocked by following Nehal’s questline and playing “The Calling” mission. But first, players will need to collect three Mysterious Shards that can be obtained by killing Tha’abeen, elite members of the Ancient Order.
Once that is done, go to the Hidden Chamber found in the Northern Oasis, as seen in the image above. Explore underwater, and you will discover a hidden cave containing interactable panels. This is where you will find the Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
2. Hidden One Sword
- Location: Found in the Abandoned Caravanserai fort.
- Weapon Stats: 35 Attack Damage and 60 Defense Damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Every fifth sword attack inflicts the target with Posion status effect.
Although players will not encounter jaw-dropping damage figures and damage stats reminiscent of the last three Assassin’s Creed games, there’s still room for creative builds, particularly the Poison build, with the right gear equipped. That being said, the Hidden One Sword is easily my second-best weapon in the game, and first, actually, if I am running with a Posion build in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The head-turning feature of the Hidden One Sword is the Venomous Perk, which makes every fifth hit a poisonous attack, dealing a poison status effect on the enemy. This unequivocally makes the weapon best in Assassin’s Creed Mirage while engaging two or more two enemies, as Basim will be landing position status effect in no time, eating away the enemy’s health passively.
To get Hidden One Sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, go the far west of the game’s map, and you will find the Abandoned Caravanserai named location. Once you’re inside it, go to your right, align the platform with wooden boxes, and pick the flammable pot. Continue platforming until you reach the far end of this location, where you will find a passage blocked by rocks.
Throw the pot, and it will explode, clearing the way for you to find the gear chest inside there. Opening this chest will give you the Hidden One sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
1. Rostam Sword
- Location: You get Rostam Sword as a reward after completing the Weapon’s Dealer Contract mission.
- Weapon Stats: 60 Attack Damage and 35 Defense Damage.
- Unique Weapon Perk: Each sword attack deals 5% more damage, which can be increased up to %50.
I am confident that Rostam sword is, without a doubt, the best weapon in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Turning Basim into a warrior is easily done by handing him this sword in the game, and he can slay down enemies back to back in quick succession. This is because not only does the Rostam sword have good damage stats, but the weapon can also be acquired very early in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The Rostam sword’s perk, Chain Reaction, is the major highlight of the weapon. Basim can increase the base damage with every consecutive hit. The buff starts from 5% and stacks up to 50%. It is like the overall behaviour of the weapon changes with each attack Basim lands, increasing the firepower as more sword swings land on foes.
To get the Rostam Sword in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, players must complete the Weapon’s Dealer Contract mission. The contract does come with additional rewards that will be offered after completing the contractor’s request. However, even if you miss those and still successfully complete the mission, you will get Rostam Sword as a reward.
Wrapping Up
While the go-to approach in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is to kill targets via stealth, infiltrate buildings, and take out targets from the shadows, it never hurts to soak your sword in blood when the situation calls for it. There will be plenty of moments where guards will spot you or a dead corpse, eventually finding Basim hiding anywhere. These instances call for sword combat, and having the best weapons in Assassin’s Creed makes all the difference here.
